Jobs, teams, customers, photos, costs and admin — in one system. From solo trader to 50-strong contractor.
This isn't generic software with your logo bolted on. The way WorkLane behaves changes to match how your business already runs — not the other way around.
Your trades, your categories
Add, rename or delete the trade categories you tag jobs and staff with — WorkLane doesn't force a fixed list on you.
Your job numbering
Set your own prefix, separator and padding for job references — letters, numbers, or both, formatted the way your team already talks about jobs.
Your client pricing rules
Set a markup or discount per client, and choose whether it flows into billable costs too — not just quoted prices.
Your workflow, your rules
Decide whether field staff can mark jobs completed themselves, whether the schedule shows weekends — toggle it to match how your team actually works.
Your invoice defaults
Set your VAT rate and payment terms once — applied automatically to every invoice from then on.
Your notification rules
Choose exactly which events trigger an email to staff and managers — nothing you don't want, nothing missing.
It already works out of the box for plumbers, electricians, roofers, landscapers, property maintenance, council contractors and solar installers — and configures further from there. On a free onboarding call, we'll set it up your way.
Most contractors underestimate how much time — and money — disappears into scheduling, chasing, and paperwork every week.
Time per task · before vs after WorkLane
WorkLane works for any business that sends people out to do jobs. Here's how different trades use it.
Not sure if your trade is covered?
Ask us on a free call — we'll walk you through exactly how it fits your specific workflow.
Contractors trust us with their most sensitive information — client records, job histories, financial data. Here's exactly how it's protected.
Complete data isolation
Every company on WorkLane lives in its own walled partition. Your clients, jobs and financials are technically invisible to every other company — enforced at the database level using Row Level Security, not just application code. Even if our app had a bug, one customer's data cannot leak into another's.
Encrypted everywhere
All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Your passwords are hashed, never stored. Authentication tokens are short-lived and scoped to your session only. No plaintext data ever touches a disk or travels over a network unprotected.
Role-based access control
Field staff only see jobs assigned to them. Finance sees invoicing but not staff management. Every API call checks the caller's role before returning any data — it's impossible for a field operative to see financial figures or another company's records.
Hosted on Supabase (SOC 2 certified)
WorkLane runs on Supabase, which is SOC 2 Type II certified and fully GDPR-compliant. Your data is stored in ISO 27001-certified data centres and undergoes regular independent security audits.
Full audit trail
Every action on every job is permanently logged — who did what and when. Status changes, cost additions, reassignments, file uploads. If there's ever a dispute with a client or insurer, you have an unalterable timestamped record.
We never sell your data
Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. When you use the AI import feature, only your column headers are processed — never the actual records. We make money from the software subscription, not by monetising your clients' information.
Questions about how your data is handled?
We're happy to walk through our security practices in detail.
