Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners.
2. Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled.
- Session cookie — maintains your logged-in session. Set by Supabase Auth. Expires when you close your browser or after 7 days of inactivity.
- CSRF protection token — prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. Expires at end of session.
wl_cookie_consent— remembers whether you accepted or rejected the cookies below, so our servers can respect that choice too. Expires after 12 months.
Functional cookies
These cookies remember your preferences to improve your experience.
- Theme / view preferences — remembers display preferences such as list or card view. Stored in localStorage, not sent to our servers.
wl_ref(partner referral): if you arrive through a link from one of our partners, whether an accountant or a trade (a web address ending?ref=and their partner code), we keep that partner's code and the date in your browser's local storage for 90 days. It is used only to fill in the partner code when you sign up, so the partner who introduced you is credited. It is not used for analytics or advertising, isn't read by any third party, and after we check the code when you arrive, it's only sent to us again if you sign up with it. Analytics cookies
We use the following third-party services which may set cookies or collect data about your visit:
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4 — measures site traffic and user behaviour to help us improve WorkLane. Processed by Google LLC. Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Ads — measures which of our Google adverts lead to sign-ups and purchases, and lets us show adverts to past visitors. Sets cookies such as
_gcl_auand_gcl_aw. When you sign up or buy, your email address is sent to Google in hashed form to match the conversion to an advert (enhanced conversions). Processed by Google LLC. How Google uses advertising data. - Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Conversions API — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and lets us show adverts to past visitors. Sets cookies such as
_fbpand_fbc. When you take the Trade Admin Score, book a call, start a trial, sign up or buy, your email address, phone number and first name are sent to Meta in hashed form to match the conversion to an advert — from your browser, and from our servers so the match isn't lost to browser restrictions. Our servers send nothing to Meta unless you have accepted these cookies. Processed by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. Meta Privacy Policy. - PostHog — product analytics, session recordings and heatmaps to help us improve WorkLane. Data is processed on EU-hosted infrastructure. If you accept, PostHog sets its own cookie and uses local storage to recognise your browser between visits. If you don't, it still counts page views and clicks, but in cookieless mode: nothing is stored on or read from your device, there are no session recordings, and PostHog's servers group a visit using a one-way hash of your IP address and browser details that changes every day, so you can't be recognised from one day to the next. Apart from PostHog's cookieless counting described above, none of these load until you accept them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit, or via "Manage cookie preferences" below. You can withdraw consent at any time; browser settings can also block or delete cookies already set.
Third-party cookies
- Stripe — sets cookies when you visit our checkout pages for fraud prevention and payment processing. See Stripe's cookie policy.
- Google Fonts — loads fonts from Google's servers. Google may set cookies. See Google's privacy policy.
