Knowledge Base Clients & properties Step 10 of 28

Add a property

Add a work address with UK postcode lookup, and link it to the client who owns it.

Properties are the addresses you actually attend. Getting them in properly means engineers get a real address on their phone instead of a note that says "the flats behind the Co-op".

Step by step

  1. Go to Properties in the sidebar.
  2. Start with the Postcode — e.g. SW1A 1AA. WorkLane looks it up and fills in what it can.
  3. Complete the address:
    • Address line 1 — e.g. "12 High Street".
    • Address line 2 — flat, unit, block, etc.
    • City / Town.
  4. Link it to a Client — start typing the client name and pick them from the list.
  5. Add the resident or site contact's name, phone and email if they're different from the client. This is who the engineer rings when they're outside.
  6. Save.

Add the access notes people actually need — key safe codes, parking, "ring the buzzer for Flat C", dog on site. It saves a phone call on every visit.

Property documents

You can attach documents to a property — asbestos registers, floor plans, previous certificates. They stay with the address, so the next engineer sent there sees them too.
