Add a property
Add a work address with UK postcode lookup, and link it to the client who owns it.
Properties are the addresses you actually attend. Getting them in properly means engineers get a real address on their phone instead of a note that says "the flats behind the Co-op".
Step by step
- Go to Properties in the sidebar.
- Start with the Postcode — e.g.
SW1A 1AA. WorkLane looks it up and fills in what it can. - Complete the address:
- Address line 1 — e.g. "12 High Street".
- Address line 2 — flat, unit, block, etc.
- City / Town.
- Link it to a Client — start typing the client name and pick them from the list.
- Add the resident or site contact's name, phone and email if they're different from the client. This is who the engineer rings when they're outside.
- Save.
Add the access notes people actually need — key safe codes, parking, "ring the buzzer for Flat C", dog on site. It saves a phone call on every visit.
Property documents
You can attach documents to a property — asbestos registers, floor plans, previous certificates. They stay with the address, so the next engineer sent there sees them too.
