Your first login: password and PIN

Set a password for the browser and a 4-digit PIN for fast re-entry on a phone on site.

The first time you open WorkLane you'll land on the setup screen. There are two credentials to set, and they do different jobs.

Step by step

  1. Open the link from your invite email. You'll see Welcome to WorkLane — set your password to secure your account.
  2. Enter a password of at least 8 characters, and confirm it.
  3. Set a 4-digit PIN (e.g. 1234 — pick something less obvious). Confirm it.
  4. Save. You'll be taken straight to your dashboard.

Why both?

  • The password is your real credential — used when you sign in fresh, on a new device, or after signing out.
  • The PIN is for speed. On a phone, in the rain, with gloves on, a 4-digit PIN beats typing a password. It only unlocks a device that's already been signed in.

A PIN is not a substitute for a password. If someone loses their phone, change their password from /profile — that signs the device out entirely.

The three ways to sign in

From the login page your team can use whichever suits them:

  • Magic link — no password, just a link emailed to them. Good for office staff.
  • Password — the standard route.
  • PIN — fastest on a phone that's already been used to sign in.

Changing them later

Anyone can change their own password, PIN, name and avatar from Profile in the sidebar.
