Knowledge Base Jobs Step 15 of 28

Recurring jobs

Set up a repeating series for servicing and inspections, and manage it without drowning in auto-created jobs.

1 min read For company admin, manager

For planned maintenance — monthly servicing, quarterly inspections, annual certificates — create a series once instead of raising the same job forever.

Creating a series

  1. Create the job as normal at Jobs → New job.
  2. Set a Repeat pattern on the form.
  3. Save. WorkLane creates the series alongside the first job.

How occurrences appear

A daily process materialises upcoming occurrences with a 14-day look-ahead. You'll always have the next fortnight visible, without thousands of future jobs cluttering the board.

Generated jobs arrive flagged Needs review and deliberately skip customer-facing approval emails and SMS until an admin reviews them. Automation shouldn't be able to message your customers unsupervised.

Managing the series

  1. Go to Jobs → Recurring.
  2. From here you can pause, resume or cancel a series.

Pausing stops new occurrences being created but leaves the ones already on the board alone. Cancelling ends the series for good.
